The Arizona Republic reports the National Weather Service is advising people in metropolitan Phoenix to prepare for excessive heat with a chance of storms on Saturday and Sunday.
               
The Weather Service says the high for Tuesday is expected to be 108 degrees. Forecasters predict temperatures to hit 112 on Wednesday and 113 on Thursday.

Officials are urging residents to stay hydrated and indoors.

The Salvation Army will operate hydration stations around metro Phoenix that will offer chilled, bottled water and heat-safety information.
