The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill blocking a planned casino in Glendale.

The bill would allow the Tohono O’Odham Nation to develop the land it bought in 2003 near 95th Avenue and Glendale, but prohibits putting a casino there.

Republican Congressman Trent Franks, a sponsor of the measure, accused the tribe of breaking its commitment to the state or Arizona, as part of the gaming compact.

The issue will go to the Senate.
