A construction worker sleeping in a half-built cabin was bit in the calf by a bear overnight Thursday.

It happened east of Payson, near Tonto Village.

The man has received medical treatment and has since been released.

Dogs will attempt to track the bear which, if found, will be killed.

Jim Paxon with Arizona Game and Fish says there are indications this is the same bear that attacked a 74-year-old woman last month.

If and when the bear is captured, they will do DNA tests on the bear to determine whether or not it is the same one.

The victim in the last incident survived. That occurred at the Ponderosa Campground in Tonto National Forest, which is just a couple miles from Tonto Village.
