A west Phoenix school teacher is arrested for sexually abusing and having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl.

The suspect is a special education teacher at Sonoran Sky Elementary School at 10800 W. Mariposa Street.  She is not the teacher of the victim.

The girl's mother called Phoenix Police after discovering "sexting" type messages on her daughter's cell phone.  The mother says the messages were from Kimberly Ali, 28.

After investigating and discovering emails and Facebook messages between the student and teacher, detectives arrested Ali.  Police learned the relationship between the victim and teacher began with social media contact in April, then developed into a physical relationship in July.  The victim told police she received many gifts from Ali.

Ali was booked into jail on nine counts of Sex Conduct with a Minor, class two felonies, and five counts of Sex Abuse, class three felonies.
