PHOENIX - A 13-year veteran of the Phoenix police department has resigned amid allegations he sexually assaulted two teenagers.

43-year-old Christopher J. Wilson was assigned to the community relations bureau where he worked with groups in the gay and lesbian community.

Police Chief Daniel Garcia said the investigation came forth due to the courageous acts of a 14-year-old male who brought the allegations to his parents, who informed the police on Tuesday.

The investigation later revealed that a  17-year-old male was also involved in this incident with Wilson and that relationship was three months old.  The relationship with the 14-year-old was three weeks old.

"He met the 17-year-old through his police duties," said Garcia.

Police say Wilson began the relationships with the teens and they allegedly had sex with him while he was off-duty.  Investigators say one of those places was in his home.

"I'm extremely disturbed and disgusted by this conduct..this is not reflective of the department we have and the officers that serve us," said Garcia.  "Again I want to emphasize the Phoenix Police Department arrested Officer Christopher J. Wilson."

Following the arrest Tuesday night, Wilson immediately resigned from the force in lieu of facing termination.

"This tragic incident was a disturbing violation of our community's public trust," said Garcia.

Wilson admitted his involvement, but told authorities the actions were consensual.

"In our eyes there is no such thing as consent and we will prosecute this to the fullest extent of the law," said Garcia.

Jimmy Gruender, a LGBT community activist said, "He's retired military..utmost respect..like I said, I've dealt with him for many, many, many years and I'm absolutely blown away."

Wilson faces 10 possible counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Police believe there may be more victims in this case and they're asking anyone with information to come forward.
