The state criminal investigation into Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now closed. The U.S. Attorney's office says they've closed the case without filing charges.

The case stems from a feud with local government leaders, including the Board of Supervisors, mainly over budget issues with local government leaders, including the Board of Supervisors.

This is different from the civil lawsuit that was filed against Arpaio's department by the U-S Justice Department.
