PHOENIX - Nearly three years after her son's disappearance, the trial of the mother of Gabriel Johnson gets underway Thursday.

Opening arguments are scheduled to take place Thursday morning.

Elizabeth Johnson is charged with kidnapping and custodial interference.

Gabriel Johnson was just 8-months-old when she disappeared with him back in 2009.

Gabriel has still not been found.

Johnson and her attorneys were in court Wednesday to discuss several motions before the trial started.

One odd request was that Johnson wanted to be allowed to have breakfast in court each morning, something the judge said he'd never heard before. He said it was up to the jail to decide.

At this time, it is not known if Johnson will take the stand to defend herself.
