Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett has released the latest quarterly voter registration totals for the state.

As of June 30, there were just under 3,146,000 registered voters in Arizona, a drop of about 5,600 from March.

Of that number, registered Republicans accounted for 1,130,164 of all registered voters, or 35.9%.  There were 946,974 registered Democrats, or 30.1% of the total.  Independents totaled 1,041,523, or 33.0%.  The number of registered Republicans is up slightly, while the number of Democrats is slightly lower.  The Libertarian Party accounts for about one percent of registered voters.

You can register to vote until July 30th for the August 28th primary election.  The easiest way to register is online at www.servicearizona.com .  Unlike some states, Arizona does not allow voters to register at the polls on election day.
