Tampa, Fla. (Schnitt Show) - The recording of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a May fundraiser in Boca Raton, Florida may violate Florida law. The recording released by the liberal publication, Mother Jones, was purported to be recorded at the home of Marc Leder, an investor, who hosted the $50,000-a-plate fundraiser. Those details were confirmed by the author of the article, David Corn, on MSNBC Monday night.
The video was surreptitiously recorded with a hidden video camera and contains clear audio of Mitt Romney speaking candidly and “off the cuff,” as he recounted in a hastily-called news conference late Monday. In the recording Romney can be heard speaking about “people who pay no income tax” and they are “dependent upon government.” Romney also opines on the “47 percent of the people” who will cast a ballot for President Obama “no matter what” and “believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them.”
