() -- What if the 2012 presidential election came down to fisticuffs? According to a new Esquire/Yahoo! poll, most Americans — 58 percent — put their money on President Obama beating Mitt Romney in a fist fight.

Only 22 percent of the general public believe that Romney would beat Obama in a fist fight, and another 20 percent remain undecided.

Among likely voters only 21 percent believe Romney could win and 57 percent see Obama winning in a fight. Yet 22 percent of likely voters are still undecided.

However, when it comes to who they would prefer as president — and not fist fighting — 46 percent of likely voters say they would vote for Romney and 50 percent say they would vote for Obama.
